About this Site

This site is incomplete as of today, but I will add more information as time permits. If you have additions, corrections, photos, please let me know! Of course feel free to add your recollections and comments.
I've put in links to documents, article, and pictures of interest. Simply click on "click here" notation to go to the articles. You may have to then click on the article itself to make it "blow up" to legible size. Similarly, you can click on most of the photos to see a larger version.

Currently the races are in chronological order. I hope to make it easier to navigate- so if you have any tips, please let me know.

At the bottom of each page is a link for "older posts" --click on that link to see if there are additional races for that calendar year.

I just posted a movie clip on YouTube of the 1962 Meadowdale SCCA race that shows Dick Lang in his #85 Corvette. I was 19 at the time.

Hello:

My name is Katie and I wanted to get in touch with you on behalf of the Historic Vehicle Association. At the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance this year, we met Terry Michaelis, the current owner of the 1963 Corvette Stingray Coupe that Dick Lang raced from 1963-1964. We are working on creating a short documentary film about the car as part of our THIS CAR MATTERS movement (you can see completed videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThisCarMattersFilms). We were wondering if you might be so kind as to grant us permission to use a few of the wonderful photos featured on this blog as supplementary material for the film. You can reach me at ktruax@historicvehicle.org, or by phone at (866) 922-9397.

We are very excited about the film and look forward to hearing back from you!

Best wishes,

Katie

Hi Todd, 1-25-2016

I believe Terry Michaelis mentioned my name to you a while back in connection with a serious article I am working on focusing on competition versions of the 1963 Z06.

Much of what will be released is new to the hobby knowledge, and some it directly involves certain preferred competition assigned Z06's.

With Terry Michaelis' backing, the article is going extremely wide distribution - potentially well above 50,000.
I would appreciate the use of a few "Dick Lang" images and to speak to you about your Dad and the Z06.

Second hand information that's handed down to the next generation is often not only extremely reliable, but in many cases important historically -
I have often found that each person may have this little piece of a historical puzzle.

Ultimately, the more pieces I have, the clearer the that picture emerges (sometimes revealing to those who were there in 1963 things they themselves weren't privy to at the time). Especially in matters where Chevrolet Motor Division kept a low profile with its relationship with racing and its preferred racers.

My email is: ericgill4393@gmail.com My cell phone is (386) 547-1488 and I'm based in Daytona Beach (not accidentally).

You can google my name and add 1963 Z06 and/or add Neil Armstrong's 1967 Corvette and you'll find my reputation in the Corvette community both exemplary -- and when it comes to treating history with care, dignity and respect -- second to none.

There is some time sensitivity on my end since I am now plugging in images and captions to an already completed manuscript that been through peer review.

Respectfully,

Eric
